Hello people, just a random thought if you will about things that I feel I should put into some form of writing.
First off, I have to say having fandoms for a specific comic series, toy, game, animated series or even a film is an amazing thing. It bring so many different personalities together, regardless of the apparent cultural and/or racial differences. With that said however, it is not without it's negatives. The teasing, the ridicule, insults, possible threats and the list just goes on and that's what I would very much like to understand most of all. The hate.
I understand perfectly that everyone has their own cup of tea, and just because a group of people enjoys one particular flavour does not mean that everyone else would too. That much is obvious. The thing that gets me thinking is that there will always that small group of people who goes out of their way to seek the fans out just to make them feel shitty about themselves. Saying "Oh, these people are just no-lifers" or whatever doesn't seem to cut it for me. I would think something related to that particular fandom must've set them off somehow. Although it does make sense to a certain degree if those people just said that they just hate the fandom because well... they hate it.
Which leads me to ask, if these people hate it so much. Why seek the fandom out? I can understand if they lash out if they get the thing they dislike most shoved into their faces. But yeah, as I've mentioned before, some of these people actively seek the fans out just to piss on their faces. I would think that everyone has something a little bit more productive to do, like create more art, cook, do house chores, play a game, read a book, hang out with friends or whatever it is people enjoys doing on a daily basis. It's really sad to see this kind of thing happen in my opinion.
